The Moutards have been making wine since 1642. Francois Moutard's 21- hectare vineyard is situated in Buxeuil at the extreme south east of Champagne on the Côte des Bar, the highest region in Champagne.

Pinot Noir thrives particularly well on the clay and limestone soils.
